Bachupally land belongs to govt

Justice N V Ramana of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday upheld the right of the state government over 214 acres of land in Bachupally village of Ranga Reddy district. While dismissing the rival claims of the legal heirs of one Razia Begum over this land, the judge also accorded legal sanction to the allotment of certain lands to the AP Housing Board from these land. The Housing Board in turn had allotted 90 acres land to Indu Real estate projects and the court found no infirmity in this land allotment. The court also made it clear that the order passed by the land reforms tribunal, following the surrender of excess land by Razia Begum, as having reached its legal finality in 1976 itself and the land so surrendered stands absolutely vested in the government.
